Our client, a well known Consulting Company in Switzerland, is currently looking for an IBM Mainframe Admin consultant, to support their projects based in Zurich- Switzerland.

Role:

  • Work closely together with other support as well as engineering teams to develop / integrate storage related tools and infrastructure components.
  • Setup and maintain SMS managed storage subsystems in a highly automated z/OS Mainframe environment, define Backup/Recovery processes and provide support for it.
  • Be responsible for service areas / projects within the SLS area and for providing 24x7 support by Onsite and On-call service for applications which run on the IBM z/OS platform covering multiple regions in different time zones.
  • Provide services based on the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and ensure the availability of storage entities for all production-, test- and development environments.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 10+yrs plus of experience in a similar role.
  • Skilled in mainframe (z/OS) storage administration
  • Knowledgeable in DFSMS and DFHSM
  • Skilled in programming in REXX or other languages strongly desired
  • Experience with IBM DS8xxx and IBM TS77xx a plus
  • Experience with CA Storage Management Products a plus
  • Effective communication and team skills with an ability to cooperate, present to and participate with peers/team members
  • Basic knowledge of operating systems and systems administration concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts and technologies as well as a personal commitment to stay current with latest technology concepts
  • Good problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Identifies and resolves less clearly defined problems using established procedures and/or protocols as guidelines
