Contract role for 9 months - Remote work possible

Our client, a well known Finance company, is currently looking for a Java Software Engineer

to work on remote basis supporting its business in Zurich - Switzerland.

Role:

• The role is around a coding, requirements engineering, solution design, testing, etc.
• Work well in a fast paced environment while deeply investing in long term quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate as strong experienced in design and build of our next-generation highly available service oriented and distributed system / platform, part of strategic project

Skills & experiences:

• Scrum / Agile Mindset - Live and celebrate the idea of transparency - don't work in a silo!
• 4 to 6 years plus experience with Java 8
• Positive, initiative and result-driven attitude with high sense for quality and strong analytical thinking and problem solving mindset
• Be open for pair programming
• Actively do Know-How sharing
• Accept Feedback and adapt accordingly
• Stick to the DoD
• Be pro-active - also when obstacles appear - mention them early and ask for help in the team - explain also what did not work well, so we can learn together
• In case there is a problem, provide the context when explaining the problem
• Test the code - be aware of not breaking other functionalities
• Stick to the Task Description and Acceptance Criteria
• Be able to keep the focus
• Work for the target environment (it's not enough, when it runs in the local Windows Dev machine)

Must have technical experience:

• Maven, Git, Jenkins: > 4-6 years
• Docker/Podman: 4 -6 years
• Linux: 1-3 years
• ElasticSearch: 1-3 years
• Microsoft NoSQL Database / NewSQL (Key value store): 1-3 years
• Openshift / Zookeper: 1-3 years
• Kafka: 1-3 years
• Test automation: 1-3 years
