Security Designer Engineer

The candidate will be responsible for delivering high level and detailed level network security designs and build plans for new security infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide security design, information security guidance and technical approval for new projects across the business and ensure they adhere to TelefĂłnica security policies and industry frameworks.
  • Ensure Security Operational Acceptance criteria are met for all new projects and any gaps are highlighted to the business.
  • Create designs and implementation plans for the deployment of security infrastructure in line with security architecture / framework / hot fix / upgrade requirements. Respond to queries from the business and change management.
  • Ensure documentation of all security infrastructure is relevant and up to date, and vulnerabilities patched in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Review and approve Authority for Network Connection (ANC) requests.
  • Assist with the resolution of security issues and act as an escalation point for our internal 3rd line operational support teams enabling a faster fix and reducing total cost of failure.
  • Key skills
  • Must demonstrate knowledge and in-depth hands-on experience of working with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention, Security information and event management (SIEM) and vulnerability management tools.

Experience with the following is essential:

  • Checkpoint/Fortinet/Juniper firewalls
  • RSA SecurID or equivalent IAM products
  • Qualys or equivalent vulnerability tools
  • Experience working with the ISO27001 ISMS or equivalent security frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts, including to non-technical stakeholders
  • Contributing to large-scale projects, often simultaneously
  • Securing cloud infrastructure, both private and public
  • Excellent working knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Knowledge of IP Networking Technologies such as routing, with a focus on security aspects.

Experience with the following is desirable:

  • Automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet
  • Tufin or equivalent orchestration suites
  • A valid security certification such as CISSP
  • Previous experience working with mobile network infrastructure
