I am looking for a Voice Core Network Planning Engineer to work within a large team to produce detailed plans to support Core Voice Platforms and support New Services.

Timely response to all transmission enquires

Collect data from network relating to Core Voice demands for analysis;

Liaise with other network domains such as Transmission, Mobile Access, Project Management Office & Network Data build.

Support Core Voice Case fault Inbox/ cases.

Create Routing plans for New Services.

Support Testbed Design work needed for new platforms.

Provide input in Statistical Tools such as Mycom to build any new reports and ownership of updating key KPI's for the network.

Produce Monthly TDM/ IP plans

-High Level Designs

-Detailed Designs

Produce specific Media Gateways Designs

-Deployment Plans

-High Level Designs

-Detailed Designs

This will achieved by access to numerous Switch / Hardware platforms such as Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei.

Essential knowledge/skills:

  • Proven knowledge of Ericsson Switching platforms (MSC, MSS, MBC , MGW)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Ericsson Switching Platform (MSC, MSS, MBC)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Ericsson MGW Platform (V3, V4)
  • Excellent working knowledge of Ericsson HLR & HSS
  • Good Working knowledge on SBG , IP works
  • Good working knowledge of Huawei Switching platforms.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Signalling systems and planning with TDM signaling and SIGTRAN.
  • Good working knowledge of ALEX Ericsson database.
  • Good understanding of IP networks
  • Working knowledge of Number Management and Roaming requirements within a Mobile network.
  • Working knowledge of MAPINFO.
  • Working knowledge of MAGNET (Customer allocation database)
  • Capability on Performance platforms such as Proptima (MYCOM) to allow reports to be built and maintained.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to perform job functions to standards under pressure of tense/confrontational situations
  • Ability to remain calm and courteous with demanding/difficult customers and/or situations
  • Ability to provide concise and clear, written and verbal reports
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fluent communication in English

Essential experience:

  • 5-10 years minimum experience of working in the Telecoms industry.
  • Experience of producing and delivering customer presentations
  • Proven ability to interact with diverse customers in a multi-cultural environment
