MESN Planner

Key Responsibilities

Network Planning & Design

• Perform network planning based on technical, service, and capacity requirements.
• Analyse existing network topology, infrastructure, and available capacity.
• Develop appropriate connectivity and routing solutions.
• Assess the technical feasibility of proposed network changes.
• Support network-capacity expansion and network-evolution activities.
• Identify opportunities to optimise network resources and infrastructure utilisation.
• Apply network resilience principles when developing network solutions.

Planning Delivery & Implementation Support

• Prepare network plans and associated technical documentation.
• Identify technical dependencies, constraints, and implementation risks.
• Validate planning information prior to implementation.
• Coordinate planning requirements with engineering, implementation, and operations teams.
• Support the resolution of technical planning queries during implementation.
• Track planning activities and technical issues through to completion.
• Ensure planning outputs meet defined quality and technical standards.

Network Data & Quality

• Maintain accurate network-planning and inventory information.
• Perform quality checks on planning outputs and associated network data.
• Ensure consistency between planned network solutions and existing network infrastructure.
• Support continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, and data quality.

Key Technical Skills & Knowledge

• Good understanding of fixed-network architecture.
• Solid knowledge of transport-network fundamentals.
• Experience in telecommunications network planning.
• Strong understanding of network topology and routing.
• Knowledge of network capacity planning.
• Understanding of network resilience principles.
• Experience with network inventory and planning systems.
• Knowledge of service connectivity planning.
• Ability to produce clear and accurate technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

Experience

• Experience in telecommunications, fixed networks, transport networks, or a related technical environment.
• Experience in network planning, network design, or network operations.
• Experience working with network planning, inventory, or engineering systems.
• Experience supporting network implementation and network-evolution activities is an advantage.

Education

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Relevant professional experience may be considered in place of a formal degree.
